Itron has an opportunity position for a Hardware Design Engineer who thrives on cutting edge technology. The candidate will be part of a team of hardware and software engineers designing products around FCC regulations. The ideal candidate will have education and experience in analog and digital circuit design for power supply products.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist during all phases of the product development lifecycle including design, prototyping, check-out, and test of analog and digital circuitry for switching power supplies that must perform reliably in a harsh operating environment, with an emphasis on quality while meeting tough requirements and schedules.
- Assignments may include technical analysis of product requirements, development of functional specifications, analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, hardware startup and debug, hardware verification testing, system testing, and release to manufacturing.
- Manage task assignments and ensure that requirements and schedules are met.
- Conduct circuit and system analysis using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, etc.
- Prepare and publish test reports and data as required.

Qualifications:
- Willingness and ability to work in a team environment, to accept direction from others, to take responsibility for successful completion of tasks, and to learn from more experienced engineers.
- Experience or education in analog and digital circuit design, microprocessors and microcontrollers, RF communication systems, network systems, sensor networks, circuit troubleshooting, board-level debugging, project planning, etc.
- Experience using laboratory equipment including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, emulators, debuggers, protocol analyzers, etc. for debug and testing of embedded systems.
- Experience designing power supplies a plus.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively. Ability to write clear and professional documentation.
- Understanding of the product development lifecycle.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and to become proficient with new devices, tools, processes, etc.
- Experience:
This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in Hardware Design, however 5 years is highly preferred. Additional experience designing products around FCC regulations desired.

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering required, a degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
