NTU發展出2分鐘充電70%的超快充電池 - 工程師

NTU 團隊發表了超快充電池,在短短的兩分鐘內最多可充電70%,而且電池壽命長達20年
。目前已技術授權給一家企業,預期新一代的超快速充電電池可於兩年後上市。
新加坡南洋理工大學(Nanyang Technology University,NTU)的研究人員發表了超快充
電池,在短短的兩分鐘內最多可充電70%,而且電池壽命長達20年,約是現有鋰電池的10
倍壽命,估計在兩年後即可上市。
被應用在手機、平板或電動車上的傳統可充電電池通常可進行500次的充電,約可使用2~
3年,但每次充電約需2小時。然而,NTU所開發的新電池可充電1萬次,不但可節省電動車
駕駛置換電池的成本,而且只要十幾分鐘就能把電動車的電池充飽。
此一新的可充電電池是以二氧化鈦取代傳統的石墨作為鋰電池的陽極,二氧化鈦是可自土
壤中取得的豐富、便宜且安全的材質,通常被應用在食物添加物或防曬乳中。而NTU團隊
則發現一個方法可把球形的二氧化鈦轉成小型的奈米管,粗細大概只有頭髮的幾千分之一
,以加速該電池的化學反應而能快速充電。
此一花了兩年才完成的研究成果是來自於NTU的副教授Chen Xiaodong與Tang Yuxin及
Deng Jiyang等研究人員,長期著墨於電池開發的NTU教授Rachid Yazami則稱讚該成果將
是電池技術的一大躍進。Yazami說,即使鋰電池成本從1991年商業化以來在成本與效能上
都有顯著的進步,然而,市場卻加速往行動電子與能源儲存等新應用擴張。
NTU團隊將申請建置大型電池原型的概念性驗證計畫,也已提出專利申請,並已授權給一
家企業,預期新一代的超快速充電電池可於兩年後上市。Xiaodong並說明該電池不難生產
,很容易就能整併到既有的製程中,Frost & Sullivan則預測可充電的鋰電池在2016年於
