看到推文很多推業務的, 業務是很重要啦~
但業務的影響力是建立在大家產品差不多,正要開拓藍海市場搶市占率的時候,
例如所有公司都是賣一百萬的Toyota,那賣最多Toyota的業務當然就很有價值,
所有公司也會想找這種業務來幫它們賣車,
但現在有另一家公司能做到同樣售價賣藍寶堅尼,
隨便請個大奶肥宅當業務業績都贏過在其它公司賣Toyota的業務,
你覺得這時候會被挖角的是那家的大奶肥宅業務??
還是用同樣成本/效率卻有做出藍寶堅尼技術的RD??
要討論哪個職位有價值, 看是要比:
1.在公司的不可取代性
或
2.個人年薪
論1, 這幾年美國雲端超火熱, 路邊丟個石頭都能砸中想轉用雲端技術的中小企業,
你在AWS, Google Cloud, Azure不論換誰當業務都很容易就有OTE,
真正屌的是後面RD團隊的系統設計跟PM,Marketing Strategy搞出來的Business Model,
少了RD在後面優化維穩開發藍寶堅尼,你sales就繼續在前線賣Toyota賣到失業吧~
論2, 基本上工程師的薪資都比達到OTE的sales高出一階,
Google T3薪資跟幾年經驗的T4 OTE sales差不多,
Amzn L4/L5 developer beat L5/L6 Sales,
很頂的Top Sales, Sales Lead當然賺得比"一般"工程師多,
但是同樣等級拿Staff, Principal, Distinguished Engineer來比也是贏過這些Sales,
不同產業Sales跟RD的重要性有差,
至少在科技創新龍頭領域業務是靠RD養的
