4G LTE Overview

【課程大綱】

LTE

LTE (Long Term Evolution) bases on 3GPP Releases 8 & 9. The first part of
this course will discuss the following subjects in LTE:

-3GPP evolution

-LTE fundamentals
o Layer 1: PHY
o Layer 2: MAC, RLC, PDCP
o Layer 3: RRC, NAS
o LTE call setup message flow

-LTE services
o CSFB (Circuit Switched Fall Back)
o IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem): Voice, SMS and RCS on LTE
o LBS (Location Based Services)
o eMBMS (Evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service)

LTE-Advanced

LTE-A (Long Term Evolution-Advanced) is the upgrade path of LTE and uses 3GPP
Release 10 and onward. The second part of this course will discuss the
following features in LTE-A:

o Carrier Aggregation
o DL MIMO enhancement
o UL MIMO enhancement
o Enhanced Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (eICIC)
o Minimization of Drive Tests (MDT)
o Self-Organizing Networks (SON) enhancement
o Relay Node (RN)
o Machine-Type-Communication (MTC)
o Home eNB enhancement
o Data service enhancement
o Enhanced PDCCH (ePDCCH)
o Network based positioning: UTDOA (Uplink Time Difference of Arrival)
o Coordinated Multipoint (CoMP)
o Inter-working WLAN (IWAN)


【授課時間】12月24~25日 週三、週四 上午9:00~12:00及下午1:30~4:30

【授課地點】交大光復校區 工程四館教室
