Job Description
The NYU Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP) is a unique public-private research center that uses New York City as its laboratory and classroom for fundamental research enabling cities around the world become more productive, livable, equitable, and resilient. CUSP observes, analyzes, and models cities to prototype new solutions and applications, formalize new tools and processes, and develop new expertise and experts. These activities will make CUSP the world’s leading authority in the emerging
field of “Urban Informatics.” CUSP and its partners are working together with New York City in pursuing research and development in a number of areas across multiple urban domains and in close collaboration with NYC agencies.
The Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP) is seeking multiple postdoctoral fellows in several areas including instrumentation, sensing, imaging and remote monitoring. Candidates are invited with competencies in the fields of electronics, optics and electromagnetics with diverse backgrounds ranging from engineering to astronomy. The objective is to expand our capacities in acquiring information across the urban systems for a data-driven and qualitative analysis of cities. The selected candidates
will work closely with researchers at CUSP’s Urban Observatory.
Applicants are invited to send their CV along with names of at least three references to [email protected]. Applications will be reviewed on a rotating basis until all positions are filled.
