「這位員工沒有功勞,也有苦勞」、「雖然沒法達成目標,但我已經很認
真在作了」…等類似說詞,長久以來在各類型職場環境裡層出不窮,其實
,這樣的回答僅能表示任務執行者達到了「負責」(Responsibility)的階
段,離真正的目標達成還有一段距離,目前企業組織要求員工應具備的工
作態度,光是負責已不符時代所需,而是要提升至等級更高的「當責」
(Accountability)才行,近來這股新穎的思潮也逐漸從民間流傳到公家
機關。
何謂當責?當責專家張文隆表示,簡單來說,當責的意義在於「當仁不讓
,責無旁貸」,一旦接受任務,就要全力以赴達成目標,「為結果負責,
而不是盡心盡力就好」。他強調,負責與當責的不同,就在於前者是把事
情作對(about doing something right),後者是作對的事情(about
doing the right thing),負責是對自己的承諾,而當責是對他人的承諾
,所以當責比負責更具深度與廣度,唯有實施當責,把對的事情圓滿完成
,才能有效率地擁有成果。
