台積電最近助海思半導體成功產出全球首顆以16奈米鰭式場效電晶體(FinFET)的安謀(
ARM)架構網通處理器,設備廠透露,這項成就宣告台積電16奈米在面臨三星及英特爾進逼
下,已取得壓倒性勝利。
此外,台積電也正式向英特爾宣戰,目標是二年內在10奈米電晶體技術追平英特爾,屆時在
晶片閘密度及金屬層連結等二要項都超越英特爾,將讓台積電稱冠全球,並奠定全球晶圓代
工不可撼動的地位。
台積電的這項成就,是昨天出席台積電高雄氣爆感恩與祝福餐會的半導體設備廠所透露,針
對台積電宣布全球首顆16奈米產品完成產品設計(tape-out)後,點出台積電在16奈米
FinFET的重要成果。
不願具名的設備商指出,台積電為海思成功產出的全球首顆以16奈米生產、功能完備的網通
處理器,等於宣告海思具備可以提供自家集團華為的核心處理器。
華為目前是向英特爾採購以22奈米製程的網通處理器,台積電與海思的合作,也代表中國大
陸已具備自主生產高階網通處理器的地位,對英特爾帶來一定程度的威脅。
對台積電而言,台積電也用實例,向英特爾證明台積電16奈米FinFET製程,並未如先前英特
爾唱衰在晶片閘密度比英特爾還低30%,台積電不但在20奈米就已超越英特爾,16奈米
FinFET更大幅領先。
此外,面對三星先前一直強調16奈米FinFET遠遠領先台積電,台積電率先提出產出成功案例
,回擊三星的口水戰,等於左打英特爾,右踢三星,台積電有信心在16奈米FinFET會取得壓
倒性勝利。
半導體人士強調,半導體評斷技術實力,看的是電晶體效能、晶片金屬層連結及晶片閘密度
,後二者台積電都已超越英特爾,一旦台積電二年內在電晶體效能追平英特爾,台積電將可
正式躍居全球半導體新霸主地位,為台灣締造新的歷史地位。
