台積電7奈米產能爆滿之際,5奈米布局也傳捷報。在蘋果、海思、超微、比特大陸和賽靈
思五大客戶都決定採用5奈米作為下世代主力晶片製程下,台積電5奈米需求超預期,並大
幅上修產能布建,由原訂每月5.1萬片大增至7萬片,增幅近四成,同時加速量產腳步,提
前明年3月量產。
台積電在7奈米已取得業界完全領先優勢,加上5奈米需求超預期,法人看好,台積電先進
製程將持續稱霸晶圓代工業,大幅擴大與三星、英特爾等勁敵的差距。隨著7奈米和5奈米
同步放量,明年營運將再次展現強勁成長態勢,挑戰連續第九年創新高。
台積電董事長劉德音上周在台北國際半導體展(SEMICON TAIWAN)科技智庫領袖高峰會中
,正式向全球揭示台積電5奈米已走出研發階段,積極準備進入量產,預定明年第1季末正
式量產,而且會是產能快速擴增且創下新紀錄的一年。不過,台積電不對客戶與訂單狀況
置評。
受美中貿易戰干擾,台積電5奈米產能布局一度停滯,隨著各國相繼加速5G布建腳步,同
步帶動人工智慧(AI)和高速運算晶片需求,相關晶片廠積極採用台積電7奈米製程,並
驅動這些大廠進至5奈米製程的速度,使得台積電恢復5奈米產能布建動能,甚至更加快布
局,為明年業績注入強勁成長動能。
台積電供應鏈表示,台積電主力客戶導入5奈米腳步加速,不僅蘋果恢復原建置產能之外
,海思也因華為加速5G基地台和手機推出時程,開始與台積電在5奈米有深度合作。
此外,超微透過與台積電7奈米合作,旗下中央處理器和繪圖晶片銷售報捷,加上比特大
陸為搶進AI商機,也都同步採用5奈米,同時,在AI特殊應用晶片持續大放異彩的可編程
邏輯元件(FPGA)賽靈思也持續向5奈米推進,促使台積電5奈米製程需求超乎預期。
因應客戶強勁需求,台積電已決定必要時5奈米產能可再擴增至8萬片,擴增部分集中於南
科Fab 18的P3廠。
