台積電董事長張忠謀即將退休，今年6月5日股東會將是他以董事長身分公開露面的最後一次。據了解，本周五（5/25）將在竹科廠區舉行最後一場歡送會，屆時員工將會送上手寫卡片，且在員工餐廳連線舉行。
根據台積電員工指出，新竹廠區將在12A廠員工餐廳舉行，若不克前往的人將以公司配置的筆記型電腦，透過內網直播連線參加，用外網則無法觀看；員工表示，會依據當天工作是否忙碌，再考量是否前往該廠參加，若太忙就只能看直播了；員工表示，另一方面也擔心，光是新竹廠區員工就有上萬名，真的都跑去12A廠餐廳會擠不下。
對於歡送會內容，台積電發言體系保密到家，僅表示會低調舉行，不對外開放。至於會為董事長準備什麼樣的紀念品？台積電發言體系僅表示，會好好想一下。然而根據基層台積電員工透露，每個人都已經在兩星期前手寫卡片，每個「課」至少會寫兩大張，寫下對董事長的祝福。
張忠謀之前宣布，退休後將不續任台積電任何職務，就連董事席次也沒有繼續保留，完全是裸退，台積電員工對此頗為讚許，認為此舉堪稱是企業界「典範」。
