混合訊號IC - 工程師

最近要去美國念電機碩士，領域想選混合訊號積體電路。
聽說未來業界會很需要處理混合訊號的工程師，可是不知道混合訊號IC到底是
用在哪方面居多，而且聽不少人說混合訊號IC很難，還不如念數位電路設計來的
容易，工作也比較好找。
有人說一塊晶片大部分是數位電路，只有少部分是類比電路，
可是往往問題都出在類比電路；再來就是類比電路需要的人不多，
要的人最少都需要六七年的經驗。
想在這裡請教一下版上大大，感激不盡。
