空殼主管相處模式 - 工程師

最近我們部門空降了一個男主管。
先說說這主管,這個主管在公司待滿久,年紀比較大,但不是我們部門專業的。
再說說我們部門,成員普遍都年輕(40歲以下),職稱都很小(工程師),能獨立作業。
這樣主管配上這樣的部門產生了有趣的現象。
因為我們可以獨立作業,所以我們都是直接和其他部門合作,其他部門寄信也直接寄給我們,不是透過主管發包工作。當然開會/時間表都是我們自己訂(cc他)。
工作告一段落,我習慣主動地將報告先給主管看過,但因主管完全看不懂(非相關領域),所以基本上他不會發表任何意見,也無法下任何指導。甚至到後來,我主動報告給他聽時,他會反問我為什麼要和他說?我自己處理就可以了吧?
主管既不發包工作,不定時間表,也無法指導,事實上也很少meeting,這樣的合作模式讓我感覺很怪,和以往我待過的部門差很多。
大家有什麼方法可以突破這個僵局呢?
我在想是我要把報告做更簡單一點讓他可以吸收?還是給一些引導式問題讓他發表意見,做球給他接。
我該怎麼做才可以引導主管上軌道呢?

協調,“官”的作用就在這。我覺得你方向不錯,簡化報告
讓他進入狀況,至少大主管問他的時候不會兩手一攤,啥都
不知道,結果被罵就釘下屬。

涉是兩碼子事,更不用說別部門砲火來了他都只能閃開
