The intervention was first ascertaining the patient’s knowledge of her
problem.6 When the patient was in a standing position, she was asked to
identify the direction that she feels she was going to fall. By doing so, she
acknowledged that her problem was a rightward falling. Patient was then asked
what she needed to do to prevent such falling, she indicated that she needed
to go to the left and the therapist confirmed the appropriateness of her
judgment. At the same time, since the patient feels erect when she sees she
is tilted, a mirror with a drawn midline was used to provide her visual
information correspond to reality. The patient was also told to utilize the
vertical structures in the room, such as door frames or window, as visual aid
to provide her feedback about her body orientation.8
