各位好
我想請教的是應變能(strain energy)與應變能密度(strain-energy density)的問題
我看GERE的材料力學課本闡述
Strain energy is defined as the energy absorbed by the material during the
loading process.
Toughness, refer to the ability of a material to absorb energy without
fracturing. The corresponding modulus, called the modulus of toughness "ut"
is the strain-energy density when the material is stressed to the point of
failure.
我個人有點被弄糊塗了,似乎應變能與應變能密度都是指吸收能量的能力?
但是我又可以確定兩者的不同
strain energy 為 P-delta 曲線下的面積
strain-energy density 為 stress-strain curve 下的面積
在線彈性的假設下
stress energy 與 軸力的平方成正比與面積成反比
stress-energy density 與 軸力的平方成正比與面積的平方成反比
stress-energy density x AL = stress energy
再打了一堆廢話之後,所以我想請問的是
1.揪靜何者才是指吸收能量的能力呢?
2.為什麼藉由推導"功(work)"的公式得到的結果是面積大者吸能能力差。
這與一般的常識的想法不同,為什麼不是可以吸收能量的能力較佳?
