看了下Oversea版, 幾乎沒有Finance工作的分享, 我在此來拋磚引玉, 請不吝指教:
Job: Google - Sr. Financial Analyst
要求:
. Finance / Economics / CS background
. Programming, SQL, R/Python的能力
. 建立Revenues-base模型 for Google businesses, and decision-making
時間:
整個流程大概是2-3 個月, 我是在2017秋冬開始的, Mountain View
過程:
1st: Recruiter phone interview: personality base
2nd: Team members phone interviews: personality base (x2)
3rd: On-site:
(以下開始on-site, 會共有四位面試官, 扮演不同角色, 以下依此性質分4 stages)
(交通安排: SF搭Shuttle to Mountain View)
3-1: Finance: explain thinking for using depreciation for optimizng
3-2: Presentation: present to leadership for a new business plan
(Gmail Charge) & (data center)
3-3: Programming: write a script from DB and build a forecast
3-4: Modeling (MOF): building a model from Marketing and Operations to
Financials resuls, explain the drivers and impacts
心得:
個人覺得這安排層次是, Finance + Present/Business & Products + Programming
整體modeling能力, 分別是Fin, Biz, IT, or Sales Ops MGR.
Biz knowledge: 當然裡面直接問到的產品, revenue forecast model, P/L building
for YouTube, new hardware, ads. 這些都算基本, 也會蠻deep
行為個性問: 主要是以背景, 學些什麼, 問得非常細, 雖刁鑽但態度好
要注意的大概就是換手follow-up蠻多次的, assertive很重要, 至少我是這樣子
過去工作經驗: 由於我在Google的類似公司, 所以屬於蠻大的加分
文化上也接近, 我想這可能是我能進到最後的原因之一
最後的Committee: 就交給上帝吧
我個人覺得是no offer, 因為太多跨界強者, 從4個面試官的主題測試, 還有team member
interviews, 幾乎沒有pure finance/accounting background. CPA/CMA照理說是加分,
但似乎也不是很重要, 主要還是模型能力, marketing, 業務理解, drivers, 還有insight
還有整個Planning Cycle的key impacts for financial results.
是個很好的經驗. 同樣的位置在NY也有
