找指導教授的時間點 - 土木

請問各位大大
小弟我完全不知道研究所是在玩啥
我有去請教過人
人家說碩一就乖乖上課.開始想論文題目
碩二剛開始時就要想到題目然後找教授指導
可是小弟看到很多人都在一考上研究所就去找教授
不懂這意義何在?
連碩士班基礎課程都還沒上.更別說想題目.又更別說找教授.
如果說現在就找了.那到時才發現自己想到的題目跟這教授完全不合
那不是更慘?
總之這是目前小弟對研究所的認知
希望各位大大指點迷津
