Summary/Objective: The Lead RF Engineer will be on the front lines of the
conception, design, development, and release of Samtec’s RF Interconnect
Products. The Lead RF Engineer will need to be comfortable in design
development, sustaining product design, and cradle to grave lifecycle
ownership.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
1. Review and rationalize new product scopes
2. Conceptualize and design RF interconnect products using 3D CAD.
3. Run Electro-Magnetic (EM) simulations and optimizations
4. Advise in fabrication, testing and troubleshooting of component parts.
5. Define characterization and test plans
6. Actively participate and support peer design reviews and other team
efforts.
7. Review and approve detail drawings.
8. Oversee all design enhancements to the manufacturing process on an as
needed basis.
9. Review test results and address deviations as required.
10. Assist the RF Engineering Manager in the design of new products to ensure
manufacturability.
11. Mentor and develop other members of the team.
12. Handle multiple projects simultaneously as priorities can change very
quickly.
13. Work and communicate regularly with Marketing, Quality and Operations.
14. Delegate projects and oversee their progress, engaging when required.
15. Establish team metrics.

tasks depending on strengths and capabilities”
Preferred Education:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Required Experience:
1. 10 years of experience in the design of connectors or other
electromechanical products
5+ years of experience in RF Connector Product design
2. Experience in leading design engineers or running a RF Department is
desired.
3. Hands-on experience troubleshooting and debugging mmWave (40+ GHz)
interconnect products.
4. Proficient in the interpretation of s-parameter and Time Domain
Reflectometry
