Since you performed service in Taiwan, not US,
the compensation is Taiwan source, not US source.
If you are not a US tax resident, you could fill
out a W8-BEN to exempt from US tax withholding and reporting.
However, I doubt your employer withheld any taxes for you.
I'm not familiar with the "foreign income law" in Taiwan. However
from an income sourcing rule standpoint, your income, although is paid
by a foreign company, is earned at where you live, and should be taxed by
the taxing authority there.
