個人電腦處理器供不應求的狀況遲遲未解,英特爾公司因供貨延遲,20日公開向客戶致歉
,但供應依舊吃緊且庫存有限。分析師指出,這家全球晶片龍頭供貨吃緊產生的轉單效應
,已經嘉惠勁敵超微公司(AMD)。
市場也解讀,缺貨狀況嚴重到必須發公開信道歉,加上英特爾先前在10月法說會中曾表示
因14奈米處理器需求大幅高於產能,有考慮委外代工,認為台灣晶圓代工龍頭台積電可能
成為外包首選。
但英特爾產能吃緊已經超過一年,中間不乏傳出找三星等業者代工的訊息。但根據外電引
述產業人士的說法,英特爾雖然與三星討論過委外,但並非14奈米產品,而是較低價的晶
片組,英特爾仍想掌握最主要的處理器產能。
英特爾20日發表聲明說,已擴大產能並要求代工廠快馬加鞭生產更多PC晶片。英特爾增加
的產能,有助於下半年的供應量較上半年成長雙位數,但仍舊供不應求。
該公司副總裁霍爾索斯表示,雖已傾盡全力解決問題,但PC晶片供應還是極為吃緊。她表
示供應問題正衝擊客戶業務,英特爾合作商和客戶的銷售恐怕會受晶片供應短缺影響。英
特爾同時維持本季營收與獲利展望不變,主因是驅動資料中心的晶片需求增強。
半導體顧問公司Tirias Research首席分析師克雷威爾認為,這是超微擴大市占率的機會
,但代工廠(OEMs)仍需要時間轉移訂單。英特爾股價在20日盤後下跌不到1%,勁敵超微
則上漲約0.4%。
英特爾工廠網路面臨技術升級轉型困難,去年開始暴露產能短缺問題,英特爾轉而優先生
產用於伺服器和高端電腦處理器等利潤較高的晶片,導致部分晶片缺貨。
英特爾執行長史旺和財務長戴維斯上月表示,競爭激烈市場並未有重大改變。
