韓媒:三星篤定擊敗台積電 拿下特斯拉新自駕晶片訂單

韓國經濟日報引述多位產業人士報導,三星電子有望拿下特斯拉(Tesla)的新一代車用
晶片訂單,供應HW 4.0自駕晶片給這家電動車廠,表示這些晶片將採用7奈米製程。
產業人士說,三星電子篤定能打敗勁敵台積電(2330),拿下特斯拉這筆訂單。其中一位
消息人士說:「台積電和三星電子的晶圓製造部門,今年來持續在這款晶片的設計和樣品
上努力。直到最近,特斯拉決定把HW 4.0自駕晶片訂單外包給三星電子,這形同已經定案
。」
消息人士表示,三星電子計劃在首爾以南的華城市廠生產這款晶片,將採用7奈米製程,
預計最快第4季開工。
消息人士認為,7奈米製程的先進程度不如5奈米製程,但三星電子決定使用7奈米製程技
術,以確保提供更高的產量,和確保晶片安裝在全自動輔助駕駛(FSD)車時可穩定發揮
功能。
產業人士說:「特斯拉和三星電子就使用7奈米製程一事達成共識,確保特斯拉自駕電動
車的安全性。」
HW 4.0晶片又稱為第二代FSD電腦,是前代晶片HW 3.0之後推出的新品,特斯拉目前的汽
車正使用HW 3.0晶片,這款晶片由三星電子承製。
產業人士表示,特斯拉決定與三星電子攜手製造這款晶片,主要考慮幾項因素,包括生產
成本、長期合作的可能性,以及特斯拉研發自家晶片時可使用三星電子的技術。
三星電子對此不予置評,特斯拉尚對此尚未發表看法。
