Service (USCIS) is conducting unannounced site visits, and it is possible
that X company may receive a visit from a representative of the immigration
service. The purpose of these visits is to verify the information employers
provide in their immigration petitions and the inspecting officer may wish to
interview persons who should be familiar with the petition and job held by
the employee sponsored on a work visa.
We want you to be prepared in the event you encounter or receive questions
about one of these site visits. Please see the attached document that
details your potential role in the process, should one of your employees be
the subject of a site visit. Thank you.

MANAGER OUTLINE:
PURPOSE: US Citizenship & Immigration Service (USCIS) is conducting
unannounced site visits. The purpose of these visits is to verify the
information employers provide in their immigration petitions. The inspecting
officer may wish to interview persons who should be familiar with the
petition and job offer.
The primary objectives of the site visit are to:
‧ Verify information, such as title, salary, job description,
job location, etc., provided on the H-1B visa petitions
‧ Verify the existence of the petitioning employer and the
place of employment;
‧ Verify the existence of the beneficiary (i.e. employee)
‧ Interview persons who should be familiar with the petition and
job offer.
‧ Verify the stated employer/employee relationship between X and the
employee;
‧ Verify that the employee has the requisite experience and/or
qualifications.
‧ Verify if the company asked the employee to reimburse the company
for the cost of the petition.
‧ Verify ID and Form I-797 (petition approval notice)
First Point of Contact:
‧ Lobby Ambassador have been provided detailed instructions on
how to handle a visit
‧ Refer to attached “Instruction Page”
Second Point of Contact:
‧ Employee’s manager
‧ The site inspector will normally insist on meeting with the
employee. You should accompany the employee to this interview.
