The horn-like motif in the first movement appears again in the first four
measures in this movement (example 1), which implies the intention of “
introduction” and “symphonize.” The homorhythm, a term used to describe
music in which all the voices or parts move in the same rhythm (according to
Oxford Dictionary), is one of Tchaikovsky’s most-used compositional
technique. The dynamic, together with the orchestrated texture, the fourth
movement opens with an energetic theme.
