報稅問題 - 海外工作

我跟老婆去年九月結婚，我去年一整年是H1B, 她去年十月之前是OPT, 之後是H1B。
我們選擇分開申報，所以她用1040NR, 我則用1040。
IRS好像有規定雙方必須使用相同deduction方式
1040NR只有itemized deduction, 沒有standard deduction, 沒得選擇
但我用standard deduction 只要補稅$70,用itemized deduction卻要補稅$1200。
想請問有經驗的前輩，我一定要用itemized duduction申報嗎,還是可以用standard?
