關於保險 - 離職

我跟我先生住在不同州,大約一個月見一次面.但最近我懷孕了,
打算八月底辭掉目前的工作搬去跟先生團圓,並且加入先生公司的保險.
他寫信給公司說我要加入他的保險,公司的回應如下
"You will need to request a change to your benefits within 30 calendar days
of the event and provide required documentation (such as her COBRA Notification
letter)."
我察了一下COBRA是我離職後才會有的文件要我簽署,那是不是要等到離職後我才能加入
他們公司的保險?那這樣是不是我會有一兩個月沒有保險?
我擔心離職後沒保險,就得花大筆錢做產檢.
