[選]試 譯 文: Figure 40 demonstrates the surface morphology and surface
roughness of control and plasma treated PP surfaces by
AFM analysis. The control PP shows a smooth surface with
the roughness of 9.8 nm. After plasma treatment, the surface
roughness increases merely by 0-6 nm. The surface roughness
does not change a lot because we treated the PP surface
in post discharge region. As plasma discharge operating in
high pressure (e.g. atmospheric pressure), the ion mean free
path is short and the electric field is comparably small in
the post discharge region, thus, the ion energy is insuffi-
-cient to provide strong ion bombardment to the PP surface.
Therefore, plasma treatment does not change the surface
roughness, and we believe that the hydrophilicity is not
caused by surface morphology.
