Christopher was respected for his self-effacing caution and passive demeanor
(a common joke in Washingtion was that "he is so lifelike").

克里斯多夫因為謙遜的謹慎態度與順從的行為舉止而受到尊重
（在華盛頓有一個大家都知道的笑話，就是「he is so lifelike」）。

我實在不懂he is so lifelike是什麼意思。
可否請各位前輩指點一下呢？

這裡的克里斯多夫是以前美國的國務卿克里斯多夫。
