However, the banking industry has been highly globalized nowadays. During
the Taiwan’s non-business hours, it is usually necessary for the
transnational banks in Taiwan to deal with foreign exchange or loan business
of other countries. In order to expand such business, some of the
transnational banks will consider establishing a 24-hour operation center in
Taiwan and having some of the employees work on shift in the evening or at
night (i.e. a part of the employees work from 04:00 PM to 00:00 AM and the
other part of the employees work from 00:00 AM to 08:00 AM). Due to the
special nature of work, there is a need for the banks to adjust the working
hours of such type of employees.
