試 譯 文：The Chinese opera must be one of the most photographed events in
Singapore and Malaysia. This is hardly surprising, as such performances are
usually colourful affairs, which lend themselves readily to photography. But
this has led to a degree of scepticism, displayed by some photographers and
curators, whenever they see photographic portrayals of the Chinese opera.
They believe that the Chinese opera has already been exhausted as a subject
matter.
