討教一個形容詞 - 翻譯

最近在翻譯一本關於各式各樣怪癖的書
其中有一句話是
「When my grandfather was alive he would always give me
twenty-five dollars or fifty dollars in singles straight
from the bank so the bills were new and crisp each time.」
^^^^^

這個crisp到底要翻成什麼比較好呢？
我知道新鈔摸起來的感覺
就是紙質比較硬
但是中文裡面就是找不到一個適當的形容詞
也不用去看Dr.eye了
酥？鬆？脆？
根本一點都不搭
挺這個字好嗎？
總不能說又硬又挺吧（對不起西斯了）
反正 就是找不到對應的字啦！ ><

不知道大家有沒有剛好想到什麼好字
