on與above的翻譯 - 翻譯

請教各位先進
就我所知介系詞on代表的是"在～上面並與～接觸"
而above則是"在～上面但不與～接觸"
若此為真，A is on B與 A is above B應如何翻譯比較能順暢的表現出兩者的不同
