With origins in Plato’s ideal world, the conflict between mind and body has
shaped how western philosophy perceives the world. Human beings have enclosed
themselves within a world built upon logic and language. Quick, convenient
classifications have made the majority the only choice, while conveniently
eliminating all minorities. The voice of “The Other” is stifled and ignored.
Rebellion against this situation is evident in post-modernistic times. The
fluidity of the individual, along with repeated reversion to a borderline
state, is expressed through the use of decentralized, achronological
narratives, scattered fragments, and the possibility of an asexual(desexed,
de-patronized, unpartiarchical) extraterrestrial body; thus exposing
reality in its rich, multi-faceted form.
