再問一句話 - 翻譯

我讀的這本書的作者喜歡引一些文學作品，這一段是談正整數只有三類

第一類是 １，第二類是質數 (prime)，第三類是合數 (composite number)。

但是一個正整數必恰好居其中一類，不能又是質數又是合數。它引用愛麗絲夢遊仙境

的話作註解。我不是很懂作者的意思(英文下方是我翻的中文)，特來求教，謝謝！

"When I use a number," Humpty Dumpty said in a rather scornful tone,

"it means just what I choose it to mean－neither more nor less."


Humpty Dumpty 用相當輕蔑的語調說：「當我使用一個數字」，「它意昧著我可以選擇
我要的意思－不多也不少」。

"The question is," said Alice,"whether you can make numbers mean different

things."

「問題是，」愛麗絲說，「你是否能讓數字表示不同的事。」

"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "Which is to be master－that's all."

Or, as Hamlet was wont to say, "I am but mad north-north-west: when the

wind is southerly I know a prime from a composite."
