Ben Stiller and Bulgari visit Uganda in support of Save the Children’s
Rewrite the Future campaign

Kampala, Uganda – February 2009, Ben Stiller, one of the supporters of the
fundraising campaign created by Bulgari for Save the Children, Rewrite the
future, visited the remote area of Karamoja in the northeastern part of
Uganda to have a first-hand understanding of childhood conditions in a
country affected by conflict.
烏干達首都坎培拉-西元2009年2月,身為頂級珠寶廠商寶格麗與「SAVE THE CHILDREN」救
助兒童會合作的「改寫未來」慈善活動募款人之ㄧ的班史提勒,日前為了能親自了解當地
貧童的情況而遠赴深受戰亂影響,位處烏干達東北部的卡拉莫賈.
Stiller’s 4 day visit, planned and organized by Bulgari, included a number
of different Save the Children interventions, from strengthening child
protection structures to the promotion of civil-military relations for peace
building operations. His visit also included formal and non-formal education
programs, where he participated in school classes and interacted with the
children, their communities and Save the Children staff.
史提勒在此停留四天之久,行程皆由寶格麗規劃,一系列的活動包括扶助孩童的相關措施,
其範疇由加強幼童保護組織到為了和平而倡導的「民－軍行動」.他的探訪也包含正式及
非正式的教育方案,包含進入校園親自和小朋友們互動,以及走訪當地的社區和救助兒童參

Predominantly nomadic and characterized by inter ethnic armed conflicts,
competition for water, livestock theft and rustling, Karamoja has had decades
of instability and conflicts which have undermined the general development of
Karamojong people and has particularly affected women and children.
到處可見的流浪漢以及種族衝突後留下的殘骸,水資源的爭奪,家畜的偷竊.卡拉莫賈數十
年來的動盪不安以及戰亂不但埋葬了許多當地居民應有的發展,甚至深深的影響了女人和
幼童的生活.
Uganda is a country emerging from the devastation of decades of civil wars
and family’s displacement, where children still struggle to access basic
services, healthcare and education.
Uganda has the highest proportion of children orphaned with HIV/AIDS and
records the abduction of over 60'000 children. Present in Uganda since 1959,
Save the Children, Rewrite the Future campaign aims to bring education in
fragile countries and war-torn communities to protect children from violence,
to help them change the course of their life and break the cycle of poverty
and conflict.
烏干達數十年來的荒廢使其顯露出是一個內戰不止且充滿許多流離失所之家庭的城市,可
憐的貧童們依舊為了基本的溫飽和教育問題而奮鬥著.
As part of the initiatives scheduled for 2009 to celebrate the 125th
anniversary of its foundation, Bulgari has chosen to support the “Rewrite
the Future” campaign of Save the Children, the largest independent
international organisation for the defence and championing of children’s
rights, present in over 100 countries around the world.
珠寶大廠寶格麗2009年初步的規劃,決定以支持救助兒童會,全球最大,已遍佈超過100個國
家,也最致力於為孩童爭取權益之機構,的「改寫未來」活動來慶祝其125周年盛事.
