這兩句話怎麼翻比較好呢 - 翻譯

我前面是翻:太陽風極度地扭曲了地球的磁場. 後面那句就翻不出來了

後面的it是指the earth's magnetic field嗎?

我比較有問題的是從一開始到victims of technology這邊不知道該怎麼翻?
