最近幫不太懂英文的廚師朋友翻譯食譜,
有一句卻不知道怎麼翻,
應該說連英文想要表達的意思都不清楚,
請大家指教。
1 large onion with 6 cloves embedded
只知道是指 一個大洋蔥 跟 六個丁香
但是embedded卻完全不知道怎麼翻。
Dr. eye的單字解釋為:
vt. 1. 栽種(花等) 2. 埋置;把...嵌進[(+in)] 3. 使深留腦中(或記憶中)
請大家指教了。Orz

Dublin Corned Beef and Cabbage
都柏林白菜醃牛肉
Serves 8
八人份
5 pounds of Corned beef brisket
醃牛胸肉五磅
1 large onion with 6 cloves embedded
6 peeled and sliced carrots
紅蘿蔔六個,去皮切絲
8 new potatoes, peeled and cubed
新鮮馬鈴薯八個,去皮切塊。
Some dried thyme
一些乾燥的百里香
A bunch of Parsley
荷蘭芹少許
2 heads of Cabbage, quartered
高麗菜兩顆,切四份。
Sauce: half pint of whipping cream
調味料:鮮奶油半品脫,
3 tablespoons of prepared horseradish
調味過的辣根醬三湯匙
Boil the beef onion, carrots, potatoes, thyme and parsley in a pot of water.
將牛肉,洋蔥,紅蘿蔔,馬鈴薯,百里香及荷蘭芹放入一鍋水中,煮沸。
Simmer and cook for 3 hours.
煨三個小時。
Remove sediment and the thyme, parsley and onion.
取出沉澱物,百里香,荷蘭芹及洋蔥。
Add cabbage and simmer for a further 20 minutes or
until the cabbage is cooked.
加入高麗菜,煨20分鐘,或直到高麗菜煮熟。
Remove the meat and divide into pieces.
取出牛肉,切碎。
Remove and season the cabbage heavily with black pepper.
取出高麗菜,並以黑胡椒調味。
On a large plate surround the beef with the cabbage, carrots and potatoes.
將牛肉至於盤中,周圍以高麗菜,紅蘿蔔及馬鈴薯裝飾。
Prepare the horseradish sauce by whipping the cream and
adding to the horseradish.
將以鮮奶油調味過的辣根醬加入。
